RADIUS SPECIALTY HOSPITAL IS PLEASED TO WELCOME JAMES QUIRK, MD, JD AS CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

Dr. Quirk graduated from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed residencies in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at New England Medical Center (now Tufts Medical Center). He is board certified in Infectious Diseases and holds the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Quirk has worked in the public health arena at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain for twenty years, specializing in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. At Lemuel Shattuck Hospital, Dr. Quirk had served in several leadership roles, including Director of Medical Education and the Transitional Year Residency Program, Member at Large and Vice President of the Medical Staff, and Chairman of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee. Dr. Quirk also enjoyed a private practice in Infectious Diseases at the Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain for nearly 10 years before leaving to attend classes at the New England School of Law (now New England Law/Boston) where he studied Health Law, Hospital Law, and Bioethics. In 2009, he graduated magna cum laude and was subsequently admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.

DR. OCTAVIANI-AGOSTINI JOINS RADIUS

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Raul Octaviani-Agostini, MD as Chief Medical Officer of Radius Specialty Hospital.  Dr. Octaviani-Agostini's professional background includes most recently the practice of Internal Medicine at Baystate Health System.  Dr. Octaviani-Agostini's additional Hospital Appointments include UMass Memorial and Academic Appointments at Tufts University School of Medicine. 

Raul became known to Radius for his exemplary work as Attending Physician at the Radius Hospital unit at Quincy Medical Center.  We were very excited when he agreed to take the clinical leadership position of CMO.  Dr. Octaviani-Agostini received his Medical School education at the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

MOVIE THE WOMEN AT RADIUS BOSTON

The movie, "The Women" used Radius Hospital recently as location for a scene in which one of the stars (we won't tell) has a baby. Annette Barnaby, a Radius Hospital Case Manager served as Technical Advisor for the scene. "It was an amazing experience. I was able to meet and work on set with Director Diane English, Meg Ryan, Jada Pinkett Smith, Annette Bening and Debra Messing."

RADIUS SPECIALTY HOSPITAL QUINCY GRAND OPENING

Quincy, Mass. (June 18, 2007) -More than two hundred people visited Radius Specialty Hospital Quincy over the course of its grand opening celebration on Wednesday June 6. Physicians, case managers, and other staff from Boston and South Shore hospitals met with Radius staff M.D.s and administrators and toured the 38-bed long-term acute care facility, operating within Quincy Medical Center since April.
